We have two lively youth groups: the ‘Youngsters’ for ages 10 to 15, and the ‘Minis’ for the age group of 3 to 9. Our youth groups are led by dedicated youth leaders: Lisa Seeger and Katja Fischer. Lisa and Katja are supported by youth helpers, who either come from the ranks of the active members or the older members of the Youngsters group.
The Minis meet every Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. for their joint rehearsal, while the Youngsters gather at 7:00 p.m. at the clubhouse under the fire station in Waldburg to practice Schuhplattler, folk dances, waltzes, and polkas.
In addition to our weekly rehearsals, we also participate in traditional costume gatherings throughout Germany, organize exciting scavenger hunts, enjoy shared cabin stays, experience thrilling camping trips, go on beautiful hikes, visit the local swimming pool, and even stage our own Christmas play.
Our mission is to provide young people with a diverse platform where they can gain a wide range of experiences. We believe that these experiences enable them to learn new skills and form valuable friendships. Here, teenagers have the opportunity to develop personally and unleash their full potential.
Inclusion for us is more than just a word – it’s a lived practice. We have successfully implemented inclusive programs multiple times, providing children with Down syndrome the opportunity to participate in our activities and fully integrate them into our association.
Youth work with us is not just done – our youth leaders are always striving to further educate themselves. This includes, among other things, obtaining the Youth Leader Card.”
